CME Opportunities Related to Journals
CME FOR AUTHORSHIP
Authors of articles appearing in any peer-reviewed journal (listed in
Index Medicus) can report 10 category 1 credits for each article
published, with a limit of one article per year.
CME FOR READING PROFESSIONAL LITERATURE
Activities that bring about new learning—for example, reading or
peer review of journal articles and other professional literature and
medical teaching—can be reported by the reader as category 2 CME.

Requirement 
The APA requires participation in a total
of 150 hours of CME activities within a 3-year reporting period. At least
60 hours must be in category 1 CME activities. The remaining 90 hours
may be in either category 1 or category 2.
